Subject: There are some differences here...
....firstly we are a smaller country and our trains are smaller too....what we get mostly are small three coach commuter trains...even Inter city express trains rarely have more than thirteen carriages....and frieght trains are one tenth the length of that monster (I have never seen one in the UK with more than two drive units hauling)...
Horns are two tone and they will only use them if approaching the crossing at high speed...you get a "beeeeeee - bah" kind of sound....but if the train is crawling along....say at a crossing just before a station halt, they will not usually bother with the horn.
The other thing I spotted is your train arrives very quickly after the barriers drop....here the barriers will drop a VERY long time before the train crosses....several minutes wait is normal and it is not unusual to wait up to four or five minutes....craning you neck to see which direction it is coming from
