Subject: Now that's a beautiful steam engine

I'm with you on the steam power as far as impressive to look at. I'll never forget my first close up encounter. I must have been about 8 with my older brother taking a short cut to the public swimming pool. The train had stopped to drop off a few coal laden cars. Most people still heated with coal in those days.

The engineer gave it a burst of power and spun the wheels to get things going. I was no more then three feet away. The noise and power completely overwhelmed me, I stood there frozen and watched it go.
