I was born Aug of 42 and enlisted in the Navy, Jan of 60, if you're not quick with math 17 years and 4 months old. It was what I wanted, high school, even back then, sucked big time. My dad was cool enough to see things my way + he was a sailor in WW II.

I was a 20 year old Petty Officer Second Class(E5) when I reported to Patrol Squadron 47. The Enlisted Men's Club allowed under 21 patrons but they couldn't drink, also E4 and below. The Acey-Deucey Club was 21 and over. I had no club.... My C.O. arranged a waver and I was issued a club card.
