after any ff update you also have to update any "add ons" or "extensions" because, i don't know why, you just do! your pic prog may be an "add on".
also, i have resisted updating ff because it appears there are probs with the update, you can probably do a "rollback" to the previous version. this site linked to in this post will be more useful to you;
