Usually I can deduce a problem and find a fix for it, but this one has me stumped! It maybe just something simple that I am overlooking. My brother in law has a machine that is running a 200 gig HD and XP Profession (fully updated)-(reinstalled once already). It has been running well for two years since the reinstall. He has had an issue with a Trojan recently, but that was resolved with Malwarebytes!

Now as of a few days ago his system freezes or become inoperable. Whether he tries to open Explorer, Firefox to access the internet or open My Documents, everything ceases to function. The windows load as usual, but when trying to navigate through file, edit, View, or whatever, the fields gray out and become nonfunctional even to the point where the cursor is frozen. A reboot only gets the same results.

Any ideas?
