hey everybody,

laptop drives work well in desktop systems if you remember 2 things...standard 3.5' hdd are between 7200 and 10000 rpms and have vibration buffers built into the drive frame.....2.5' hdd mostly run at 5400 rpm and dont have vibration buffers built into the frame......

this means that if the use of the drive is for data transfer and retrieval ...ie games and video/music editing...you are going to kill it really quick...but if the drive is only a data receptacle..such as downloading movies and storing on hdd to watch infrequently then you might be ok...when a 2.5' hdd is installed try to find an old fdd frame and mount it into that and secure it firmly to the computer....this can alleviate some of the vibration damage that will occur..
