Ok lets reverse this question, shall we.? I asked awhile back the rule of thumb (if there is one) to setting the bit rate on a video and got TONS of answers but never THEE answer.. so lets go this way.. a math problem for you..
An 08:16 VOB file.. the size 380 842, Bit rate is 6 285 Kbps
Now..... given your choices to any AVI (btw does anybody still uses MPEG I or II anymore.?) settings... WHAT, do you end up with as a final file size.?
Ive tried 10000 - Org - 128 (gives me X as 1+/-) all the way down to 64 - 640 x 480 (gives me X as 16 and does anybody wanna count the little squares.?). btw... x = compression i.e. 5x's - 16x's etc...
Open DVD gives me.. 1500 + 640x480 + Aspect/Frame Org + 128 as a reset. If you use other and while selecting AVI, what is your default settings.. this might help me as well. I dont used this much, it has problems with the scanning if the DVD has too scratches, which sucks cause I paid for this stupid thing. I use Any Video.
Ive tested this 7x's, counting the two above with several sizes and looks.
So.... the question is again.. what would this VOB to AVI file be at the end.. to your stanards and settings..
Thanks
