i'm probably too old and stunted in my tech growth, Bernard, to get much beyond that OS that everybody loves to hate, but the business about boot times makes some sense as long as I could do it without screwing everything up like I did my old XP machine last fall( erased my user account - good move, NOT) while trying to network it to my new Windows 7. Learning from disaster is one of my favorite, or most common, I should say, methods of computer education unfortunately :( But thanks for the info.
