Ah yes, Mom can be difficult but my brother Dad and I could never accuse her of not caring about us all. That makes it even harder to have to force her to face unpleasant realities and give up some comtol - something she is even less good at now in her advanced years. I make compromises, but don't ignore my limitations, also .
