fixed wing,
once the craft is in the air the wings help hold it up so there is less power needed to stay aloft. A helo forces the blades through the air all of the time, hence more power all of the time. Loose the engine and the helo becomes a brick. Auto rotation is nothing more than a semi controlled crash.
