people are dying over there.
one story i read the other day, about a british soldier who died from a roadside bomb, the sadest thing was that a device that would have protected him from that particular blast was delivered the day after his death :(
but at least people on both sides of the atlantic are working on ways of protecting troops.

i even read an article about an invisible tank being developed by the british militiary (and i believe the americans are working on similar technology) ....i think this one was done with cameras but apparently people that were there said they wouldnt have known it was there had they not been shown it lol
though i believe that the most common research in the field of invisiblity is on 'metamaterials' (which refers to the structure of the materials) ...i think imperial college london have done some work on cloaking an object in the microwave spectrum.

though i digress from the point of protection from roadside bombs, i just find it amazing some of the research that goes onto get the edge in defence :)
