Your comments are laudable my friend, however as many an an old VET will tell you, set all the high tech and body armour aside and eventually some poor bloody soldier has got to get out of a vehicle and earn his pay, often against an equally highly motivated enemy and a WWII .303 bullit is just as effective now as it was 65 years ago. Two things spring to mind, one was of some American general in the 60`s who scoffed at the fact that some of his North Vietnamese enemies were still using bows and arrows(big mistake) and secondly in an interview with a American Vietnam VET who said that in the heat of battle he had used anything to kill his enemy, in his case an entrenching tool(spade). A very honest man.
