Good to see you around again! :-)
I'm spread kinda thin lately, but I'm bound to catch a break sooner or later. Just thought I'd peek in for a few giggles.
Man oh man, I had never even heard about that cut opening scene. Thank you!!!
Did I ever mention... ? The theme for Escape from New York is my absolute *favorite* theme music from *any *movie*, EVER! I remember sitting there, spellbound, the very first time I heard it. I couldn't get it out of my head for days after, not until I went back to the drive-in the next weekend to watch it again! LOL
Anyway, I like the opening scene, but I think that was a wise edit. There's something about having to imagine what kinds of crimes he was capable of that made him even more menacing and mysterious. Less wins out over more once again.
I seriously have a hard time trying to think of any movie I've ever enjoyed more than that one. And I'm wondering when we're ever going to get a DVD reissue with some real love packed into it. Heard of any plans for such a thing? One can only hope.
Those were good times, back when JC was back on top of his game. I kind of have a hard time imagining sci-fi/horror movies ever being every bit as fun as those were back in the day. But that's what keeps us digging through them all, right?
I really liked They Live, too, although it's usually not at the top of the list for any JC fans. Me, I thoroughly loved it.
"I am here to do two things: chew gum and kick ass. And I'm all outta gum."
Hee-hee! Glorious, huh?! :-)
I'm going to take in all those cool clips you just provided. And then I might get around to watching Rogue. Hopefully, it'll make me jump a few times. Always helps me settle in for a good night's rest, you know? LOL
More soon, friend, as things slow down. Take care, and, as always, thanks for all the cool stuff! I'm still a-cuttin' and a-pastin' away! More soon... :-)
