I mean, which pinko leftist commie came up with the daily color-coded Terrorist Threat Level, the coup de grace of fear-mongering? Who coined (and beat to death) the phrase "post-911 world," a phrase designed to make us afraid for our security? Please, if the left has decided to use this tool, its only because they saw how effectively the other side used it.
But that's not even the point. The point is how you, or any professed freedom-loving individual, can condone or defend even the suggestion of banning books. Its the anathema of freedom.
The following is pure speculation, but I'd bet I'm right: In Mrs. Palin's fantasy of a perfect world, places like the Land of Odd no longer exist. From her fiery self-righteous anti-abortion stance to her contention that the Iraq War was a mission from God, she's clearly the type of person who 'always knows best,' and would have no problem using any power she has to eliminate what she deems offensive.
Fact is, both sides of this election have serious deficiencies. But I made up my mind a long time ago that I'd rather a government fuck with my checkbook than with my library or my wife's womb.
