Especially since Westerns appear more artifact than anything else in recent times, Unforgiven being rare exception since Sergio Leone. Maybe the genre will keep making occasional comebacks, even in mash-up form, like Cowboys & Aliens.

Robert Rodriguez did a fun spin with the Mariachi trilogy. The first in that series remains outstanding.
