While what you write about Mitt may have been true when he lived in and was Governor of Massachusetts, you can hardly extrapolate from his behavior. Mass. has Democratic majorities, Democratic leanings, and Democratic leverage in the Statehouse. Even if Mitt were inclined to push for a national version of Romneycare, one Senator (usually Jim DeMint) can put a hold on any piece of legislation that he chooses. Mitt has proved himself to be a weather vane political opportunist. It is a miracle to me that anyone on either side trusts him at all.
