Now Rockefeller, with his monopoly on the manufacturing of kerosene for lamps(while discarding gasoline as a waste by-product), didn't like that Vanderbilt guy.
Vanderbilt used to be into boats for shipping...but sold them all and got into the railroads when the gettin' was good....had a monopoly on rail shipping.
So, Vanderbilt started shafting Rockefeller on rail transport of R's kerosene.
Pissed R off big time.
R developed the use of oil pipelines to transport his kerosene to bypass that scoundrel Vanderbilt...lol
