Vic said: "... too many people lining their pockets right now for change to happen"
Years ago, Ike talked about the military industrial complex, where there were simply too many powerful people dependent on the set up for their cushy life styles, which made it difficult to change, and difficult to rein in excesses.
Now we have the medical industrial complex. There are simply too many rice bowl which get filled as a result of the inefficient system we have today. That's the biggest reason, I think, that health care has proven to be so tough to get a handle on.
But we'll get there. We simply can't continue to waste such a huge chunk of our productive capacity on health care inefficiency. If we do, we will simply cease to be competitive.
