You know, I think it's pretty obvious that music from the 60s and 70s, starting with Dylan and "The Band", the Allman Brothers, Lynyrd Skynyrd, etc. had a great deal to do with the evolution of "Country" music into what it is today and why it has broadened its base so much. Rock n' Roll didn't die, it just morphed and interbred. FWIW.
