Stole my frickin thunder ya bastard. Mean that in a good way of course:) Languages are dynamic, constantly changing, and self-morphing to whatever meanings serve their users. I've heard more than one person refer to English as a bastard language. But I do like the way you describe it. But it does beg the question; what is "pure"? Who's to say that German, itself was not the bastard child of other languages?
My first impression of that vid is it looks like some half-assed xenophobic attempt to expunge anything but German from the English language. Well, why not just go full German, anyways with all syntax, grammar, spelling and whatnot? Those who want to are most welcome to; myself, I'd rather just speak the current contemporary whatever and be more easily understood by most others speaking the same or similar. I very much get the impression that these "Anglish'ers" might find more common kinship in cliques like at ST Cons where "elite" groups gather and speak Klingon. As a language reform, I don't think it's gonna happen. At least not outside of "hobby" groups.
English is wonderful cuz it's young, in it's adolescence, flexible and resilient to accept and adopt changes.
Seriously, I don't care if it's English, Chinglish, Japlish, Frang or Spanglish. If ya can COMMUNICATE, that's all that matters.
