“I think we're probably in that position where we'll let ObamaCare fail,” he said. “We're not going to own it. I'm not going to own it. I can tell you the Republicans are not going to own it. We'll let ObamaCare fail and then the Democrats are going to come to us."
He's ok with letting something that helps people, fail?
That last bit is particularly galling: "..and then..."
Like, what- "on their knees with their tails between their legs?" How fucking arrogant. And for the wrong reasons. Seems he's more dedicated to is playing the dems vs pubs oneupmanship game, rather than serving the nation.
As for "not going to own it", it's not his or the Pubs option or privilege to own, or not own it. IT owns THEM. It's what's in place, and what they're supposed to work with and for(especially more so if there's no better plan to take it's place). Because it's something that many Americans benefit from and depend on to help stave off bad health, dying or financial ruin.
"Repeal and replace later"??? Malicious dereliction of duty!
This is yet another attempt to eradicate, nullify, perceptually discredit, or otherwise erase the history and legacy of a previous administration, not unlike the actions of a certain militant group against historical sites of some middle eastern countries. All for one man's ego. He still doesn't get it; six months in and the new apprentice hasn't yet accepted that he's an employee, not an emperor.
This was going to go in another post earlier but I've temporarily forgotten where or in what context for the moment... so I'll just stick it here. Take the articles with a grain(or box) of salt. Or just have a laff even if it's all born of an unfortunate incident.
It won't be a Canadian, but I'd still nominate Trudeau just for his (counter)hand shaking skills.
This was posted last year, but 9 months later- still relevant today. Same article, but different tense and context now.
