Ms. B., I think you've got this one wrong: beast (including commercial beast) will go on. There's NOTHING our government would like better than to close down traffic in illegal drugs and there's no better way to do that, than to stop the money going to the people who sell the stuff into our country. But it hasn't happened yet and I see no sign of it happening in my lifetime.
Stopping transfers via VISA and MasterCard creates a market for new ways of getting the money to overseas sellers. The challenges are different than for illegal drugs, but they're just business problems and someone will find a way to solve those problems. I'd guess that the new difficulty will mean higher prices. But I believe it will happen.
