you make a really good point, amor. when you pay for something, you expect it to be quality. and when you get crap, well, that's the last thing any business wants is bad word of mouth. obviously there are the diehards who will support zs by paying for vids. then there's the leechers who just want something for nothing and even then still complain. then there's the uninformed who know absolutely nothing about file-sharing so they don't do it cuz they don't know how. then there's the cowards who feel they'll get arrested or something if they share due to publicity surrounding suits from the mpaa and riaa. i could go on and on.
staying focused on adam and zs, if profit is a concern of his, he and every other entity whining about file-sharers needs to look at their business model. it's simple. create a product people are willing to pay for at a price they're willing to pay. these days, people have a choice to pay or get it free or deeply discounted.
i speak for myself, i'm not paying for a vid, or anything else, that i'm not absolutely confident is worth every penny i spent. for example, a 30 minute vid with 5 minutes of worthy material? and he wants upwards of 20 bucks per vid? and no range in price from low to high quality? and no vid preview? just 8 or so screencaps? and a weak synopsis? c'mon...
his mindset is still stone-age 10 years ago. file-sharing isn't going anywhere. solutions need to be made to work with, not against, it. still, he doesn't want people sharing his stuff openly, regardless of if they paid or not, i respect that. he has every right to issue a cease and desist.
