No one likes to have something stolen from them, I'm not disputing that.
I do not however think it a very good policy for someone dealing with a niche such as ours to start threating to out people. The email is very clear with the threat of public outing and that is a very nasty slope to start down. Today he feels a need to out a movie sharer, perhaps tomorrow he'll feel another need worth acting upon. Many might prefer a more secure relationship.
Since you must be new around here, otherwise you wouldn't sound so floored, I'll say also very clearly - I have protected peoples privacy here even when they were stealing from me or harrassing the forums operation. This privacy has cost me time and money and I am not about to alter my approach and I think we are the better for it.
Really not hard to understand at all.
