i will agree that the last knotty movie was good. but it's obvious she did all the work herself. she could've went to anyone to distribute the material but zs is her choice and therefore he has rights. i've never disputed that he has every right to protect his copyright. out of respect to that, i complied.
would i have paid for it keeping in mind that his site offers no quality pic or vid previews? no. if his site did have that already in place? maybe, but not at the prices he's charging. at a fair price? maybe, but now that i know privacy is not a concern of his, i'd say no.
i'd say to all media entities that blame file sharers for your 'lost revenue' that you should look at radiohead's example of the donation method. i truly believe that they set a precedent and more artists from all media genres will adopt this method. let the consumer set the price when it comes to digital media. that way it's completely fair and they pay what they believe the media to be worth to them individually rather than having to pay a set price that they probably wouldn't be willing to pay.
with that in mind, and all the drama aside, i would have paid for some, not all, zs flicks but not anywhere near what he's charging.
