"Why do some people have colourful names and can I get one?"
The colourful names are decorative and little more. They also prevent people from impersonating others, but this isn't something we have much trouble with these days. If you want one you can go ahead and create your unique handle here. Its free and a little fun. It is most certainly not required.
"Some people have stars or other symbols beside their names, what's that about?"
That is so newbies have a way of identifying people who can be trusted. Those stars and other symbols can only be handed out by me so you can be sure that the person has my full confidence, That doesn't man they'll have the answers to all your questions, but it does mean that they'll try and stear you in the right direction.
"So only the people with stars (or other symbols) are to be trusted?"
Most certainly not. There are plenty of great people who I haven't given stars (*sigh* or other symbols) to. Some are very deserving and don't have them simply because I haven't gotten around to it or they don't usually sign in with a name. Some of our best contributers and most knowledgable regs are without stars. They serve only as a partial solution to the problem of poster credability.

Do not repost it. Moddys do not like that and it will not get you the result you're after. The best thing to do would be post your question on the administration forum or email it to me at my forum host address. I'll try and answer as soon as I can.

Stop stirring up trouble because we'll set up blocks.
If you want to post again then contact me and explain that you were Just Drunk/Just Angry/Possesed by the Devil and I'll likely let you back in to play. We don't want to exclude anyone, but we also don't want to waste our time babysitting. Reach me on the administration forum or email it to me at my forum host address. This sometimes happens and there are a few things to look at.
If you have recently changed your firewall settings you may need to lower them a little. Having them set too high will hinder the forums ability to figure out what specific forum you are at and where to stick your post. You may also need to allow cookies for a similer reason.
If that doesn't work then try a test post at the administration forum. If you can post there then that tells me your problem is specific to one forum and not the entire system. Post exactly the same content as you had been trying to as this may reveal something which could be tripping you up. I'll take a look and see if I can fix the problem once I see your post there.
