Whether you're an aspiring author or just have a short tale you'd like to share here's your chance to shine. Enter your story in the PLF's first annual writer's competition and you could win a 30 day Rapidshare Premium account! We're going to allow lot's of time to give all of you a chance to participate in both the writing and the voting.
The rules are simple:
- Fantasy, fiction or your real life experiences are all welcome but your story must be on topic.
- You can enter as many stories as you want but each story must be your own original work and not previously posted or published anywhere.
- Your story must conform to the board's standards and policies. That means no harm can be inflicted on any of it's participants, no force, no underage etc.
- Please submit your story in English. No discrimination is intended. We have tried a few on-line translators and have not found one that was adequate. There are just too many omissions, misinterpretations and poor translations to give a non-English story an equal chance with an overwhelmingly English speaking voter pool.
- We are planning a Story Contest Archive Page where the top voted stories of this and future contests will be permanently displayed for all to read and enjoy. By submitting your story you consent to the inclusion of your story and grant Midnitecrow Productions full permission for it's use.
- Staff members of Midnitecrow Productions are not eligible. Any moddy caught cheating gets sand in his J-lube!
- Story submissions will be accepted from October 24th through to November24th Noon. Voting will commence from November 24th Noon through to December 7th.
- All rules subject to change without warning, no monetary value is attached to the prize or winning. Our intention is to have some fun and encourage our writers in their good works.
When the entry deadline passes we will create a new top level 'Voting Thread' that will link you to all the stories posted during the entry period. *Everybody* will be invited at this time to review the stories and post a vote for their favorite in this voting thread. We will also have a link to the voting thread near the top of the main page in the 'View Archives/Post a message' area so you can navigate to it instantly. Using this link you will still be able to vote easily even after the voting thread has scrolled off the main page. This may sound a little complicated but we have some limitations with the board's software to overcome. Our highly trained technical staff is doing everything he can to make sure this all goes down as smoothly as possible.
You are all encouraged to compliment the authors and comment on their stories as they are posted but be sure you remember to cast your vote in the 'official' voting thread as only these votes will be counted.
If you already have an RS Premium account enter a story anyway. If you win you can award this account to anyone *you* feel is deserving and you'll still get to keep all the braggin' rights you've earned by being the PLF's first story contest winner! That's all there is to it so get busy writers. Your prize and your place in the PLF Hall of Fame await you and we are all waiting to read your stories!
