You're not alone, I have seen posters use some really weird & unfamiliar ones! The simple answer, at least for me, is that file hosts are constantly changing. Depositfiles started deleting too many of my files, so I switched to something else, maybe the next one started adding too many spam pop-ups, or had too much downtime or added too long a waiting period between downloads, so I switched again, etc. The main reason I use several now is because if one of them decides to delete all my files (which has happened!) then I would still have a lot of stuff to offer and post, remaining on the others.
As for other posters, I think many of them use whatever file host they think pays the best. Me, I don't really care. Right now Hotfile and Oron simply seem to WORK the best. But I still spread things around, as you will see on my first new post here above, I am back to Rapidshare, lol!
Actually the best solution for you now would probably be to use one of those new 'one payment use multiple file hosts' sites that have popped up, where you pay one fee (usually less than one normal account) and get Premium download access to over a dozen file hosts at once, all the ones named above and more. They act like a middleman for these sites or something I think. I can't vouch for them as I've never tried them, and don't know their web addresses off the top of my head, but I have stumbled upon them from time to time while surfing the web. Perhaps someone reading this can further direct you (or you could try searching for them).
