The Odd Pages - a guide to good manners at Odd

Clothes and manners do not make the man; but, when he is made,

We at the Land of Odd are a very easy going people and not given to creating rules soley to see others conform, at the same time however we have, over the years, become accustomed to a certain Odd way of going about our postings. Our intent is to create a friendly and easy to follow forum with sparkling conversations, dirty jokes and filthy porn. If you're new to the place then have a quick look at what we consider good manners in our home.

The basics

Please avoid capitalizing all your letters - it breaks the pleasant flow of the strings.

Don't discourage others - if you don't like the material a person has posted then please either skip along or offer an even better contribution. This applies to both porn offerings and conversations.

Don't tell us what is off-topic - The Land of Odd is not a topic based forum, it's a place where a group of friends hang out. You're welcome to join us, just avoid telling us what we can and cannot talk about.

What to post?

We do like quality porn - there are a bazillion porn forums on the web and many of them are dedicated to nothing other than the same people cycling around posting the same links, day in and day out. We prefer something more, if people want those link lists then they can visit one of those forums. At Odd we ask that you take some time and pick out movies that you really like and want to share or perhaps you've spotted something that you bet anotherOddite would like to see. If you don't have anything like that then please don't post boring recycled links, I'd rather have less porn and more chat - so post a "hello gang" instead - we'll like you better for it.

What type of porn you ask? - Oh we're an Odd bunch alright. So anything unusual will likely be recieved well. We (and I mean especially me) also love good fuck scenes with exceptionally pretty porn girls. So basically anything good that doesn't breach a rule is great to have.

Some stuff we don't want to see - don't post any material with under-age people, that's the biggest no-no you can commit. We also don't want anything violent, sex is fun and playful and we have nothing against role-playing. Violence isn't fun, please use your best judgement.

Conversations are encouraged! - I would happily exchange a standard porn post for a chat between friends. If you want to simply post a hello and tell us about your day we're happy to hear from you. Tell us a joke or your life story, share some weird non-porn links you have. Clutter up my forum with a sense community, it gives me a big fat boner!

Making a request

We're not a porn request board - please keep that in mind. Our porn posters are usually loading movies that they like and think others will enjoy. The best thing to do is get a read on the posters and who they are and then have fun with what they share. Each poster has somewhat distinct content or themes or (most often) perversions, Odd is a collection of great individuals and is best treated that way. Of course you'll still want something specific to your tastes so...

Look for the "REQUEST THREAD" - you'll sometimes see a post signed with that handle and it indicates that you can stick your request on that thread. That's always the best place for it.

Don't start a new string just for a request - when we allowed that we ended up getting a half dozen top level threads all with people asking us to find something to entertain them. Not much fun for the rest of us and it bumps the others strings further down the forum. Starting a new thread with a request is a good way to get yourself deleted and earn the very mild wrath of the moddys.

Indicate that you're making a request in the subject line - we're not specific on how you do so, anything will do so long as it tells the reader that your post does not contain any content other than the request. Otherwise we get people clicking your post looking for movies and they get grumpy about their dashed hopes of golden porn. These stealth requests are a fast way to get deleted and have your request ignored.

Make sure the request hasn't already been made on the forum - just scroll down and take a look to see if the same request is already on the board (I don't mean you need to look in the archives). If it is then whoever might fulfill it has likely already seen the request and will help if they can. Multiple requests for the same material annoys me, and when that happens - look out!

A good trick! - if you hang out and know the movie posters then ask one that you think would have the material you're looking for. You'll have much better luck that way.

And like all Odd rules - these guidelines will always be applied strictly to people we don't know and ignored for long time regs. We love our regs and want them to feel warm and cozy.

Tagging spam

We have spammers to watch out for - there's a group of spammers who do little more than spread their crap around forums. We do our best to keep them away, but some get through. This is because we have the forum set to allow anyone to walk in and make a post, if we closed Odd off to any spamming we'd also close it off to people casually joining in our fun. A bummer that the spammers get in, we think it a mild nuisance and won't let them discourage us.

"Delete Q from the link" - if you see a post where the person asks you to delete some letter from the middle of the url then what you are looking at is spam. The url is blocked and they're trying to get around that block. Don't open the link, it will load a virus onto your machine.

How to tag the spam - add a simple reply to the spam post with something like "^virus spam above^". That way everyone looking at the spam post will see your warning and it doesn't leave a huge footprint drawing everones attention to their link.
